Sergei Courtyard compound, 1 of the most important heritage places in Jerusalem, officially handed over to Russia by the Israel all. This heritage is now under the  Russian possession according to an deal between Israel and Russia, Israeli media reported.

Constructed by Tzar Alexander II’s son in the nineteenth century, the Sergei Courtyard was designed for the use of Russian pilgrims going to Jerusalem. In the course of the British Mandate’s times the heritage was nationalised and in 1960s Israel acquired control over it.

The hands over of the building, named as the Russian Compound, was contracted in 2008, Xinhua revealed Monday.
