A couple was found dead at their residence in west Delhi having apparently committed suicide, said police Friday.
The two were identified as Shalini Pandey, 29, and her husband Ravi Pandey, 32, an air conditioner mechanic. Ravi was found hanging while Shalini was lying dead on the bed when their 11-year-old daughter, Tanu, opened their bedroom in their house in Vishnu Garden area in Khayala Thursday night.
Tanu’s screams alerted the neighbors, who informed police about the incident.
“Prima facie it seems to be a case of suicide. But the exact reason behind their extreme step is yet be ascertained. Tanu told police in her statement that two days ago, her parents indulged in a dispute with each other,” said Additional Commissioner of Police V. Renganathan.
The post-mortem reports are awaited to find out the their exact cause of death. No suicide note was recovered from the spot.
