Romania’s Sandra Izbasa won the Olympic gold in the women’s vault here Sunday.
The 22-year-old gymnast, who took gold in the floor exercise in Beijing, scored 15.191 points.
Heavy favorite McKayla Maroney of the United States, the 2011 World Champion, fell on landing her second attempt, scoring 15.083 for silver.
Russia’s Maria Paseka won the bronze with 15.050.
